Privacy Policy

The short version: JotExpense doesn't collect your personal data. There's no account to create, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. Your expenses stay on your iPhone and in your own private iCloud, where we can't see them.

This Privacy Policy explains how Alvaro Rodriguez ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the JotExpense iPhone app (the "App") and this website (the "Site").

Information you enter in the App

When you use JotExpense, you create categories and expense entries (an amount, a date, and a category). This information is stored:

• On your device. Your entries and categories are saved locally on your iPhone.
• In your private iCloud account, if iCloud is turned on. JotExpense uses Apple's CloudKit to sync your data to your own private iCloud database so it can appear on other devices signed in to the same Apple Account. This data is stored by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to it.

Your App settings (such as Auto-Save and Left-Handed Mode) are stored only on your device. The Lock Screen and Control Center widgets share only a simple "open the Add Entry screen" instruction with the App, on your device.

Purchases

Subscriptions and the one-time purchase are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your name, payment details, or Apple Account information. The App only checks, on your device, whether your Apple Account has an active purchase so it can unlock features.

Exports

If you choose to export your data, the App creates a .csv file on your device. Where you save or send that file is entirely up to you.

No tracking, ads, or analytics

The App does not include advertising, third-party analytics, or tracking tools, and does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. We do not sell or share your personal information.

When you contact us

If you email us or use the form on our Support page, we receive your name, email address, and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to respond to you and to improve the App. Form submissions are handled by our website host, Netlify, on our behalf. We keep these messages only as long as needed to help you, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.

This website

The Site is hosted by Netlify, which may automatically log standard technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) to operate and secure the Site. On devices that don't include Apple's system font, the Site loads the Inter font from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when the font loads. The Site does not use advertising or analytics cookies.

Children

JotExpense is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

• You can edit or delete any entry or category in the App at any time.
• Deleting the App removes its data from your device. To remove data synced to iCloud, go to Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage on your iPhone.
• To ask about or delete any messages you've sent us, contact us using the details below.

Changes to this policy

If we change this Privacy Policy, we'll post the new version on this page and update the effective date above.
